Sabino, I enjoyed reading your stream-of-consciousness. I look at 20-something’s today (at least in California) and I’m envious of how diversely they express their gender and sexuality without facing the kind of violence, homophobia, and machismo that you experienced, and which I eluded. I agree about the commercialization of writing and the commodified branding of the writer. And while I don’t make any money directly from my own writing, I’m sure that Medium makes money from us both. But that’s a relationship I’m okay with; I’m grateful that it gives me an opportunity to spark your reflections, and for yours in turn to spark my own.
